Q: Is Sunshine Church of Christ a part of The United Church of Christ?

A: The simple answer to this question is an emphatic NO!

The United Church of Christ (UCC) is a Protestant denomination formed in 1957 as a result of a merger of several different denominational traditions. While the UCC claims to believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ and the authority of his teaching, they frequently ignore the teachings of Christ and support beliefs and practices which are contradictory to the will of God as revealed in his word. These include homosexuality and abortion.

In the summer of 2005 there were frequent articles in the press about a decision by the United Church of Christ to extend their longstanding tradition of support for homosexuals to include bisexual and transgender persons. The text of most of the articles specifically referred to them as the United Church of Christ, but a few headlines simply called them The Church of Christ. This has led to considerable and unfortunate confusion over the identify and beliefs of the church of Christ. Let it be understood by all that the Sunshine Church of Christ has no connection of any kind whatsoever with the group known as the United Church of Christ.
